2:) Jesus – I want to love you more – Day 1

  • Week Two
  • Day One
  • Remember to pray and ask for the Lord to lead you.
  • Also I highly recommend the women of this study visit Heart Cry Ministries and look into their biblical womanhood study! It is amazing! I am going to be doing it with my daughter.

Dear Lord Jesus, You have redeemed me from the dominion of death and darkness and brought me into Your Kingdom of life and light. Your mercy and grace have freed me from the prison of sin. Your loving kindness has knit my heart to Yours. Now I am Yours and You are mine. You are my Lord, my Master, and my Beloved. You are my loving, heavenly Father who loves me with a perfect love. Help me love You! Help me to see Your face and hear Your voice. Help me stand in Your grace and under the fountain of Your love. May Your love and truth flow over, in and through my soul. When despair, condemnation, doubt, or fear attempt to swallow me and threaten to bind me in their twisted claws, help me run to Your shelter in thanksgiving and praise. I love you, Lord Jesus! In You and in Your name I rest. Help me walk forward with my heart set upon you and things above, not on things below. (Amen.) For I have died, and my life is hidden with you. I want to love You. I want to love You with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all my strength. I want Your love in me and my love for You to be demonstrated in a longing to serve You and others and through my faithful obedience to You and Your Word. May my sole desire be to please You as my Lord and my Beloved. May I present myself before you as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Help me, by Your grace, to know You and love You so deeply and dearly that You mean far more to me than the things of this world. I want to worship You and You alone. (Amen.) I don’t want to be formed by anything or anyone else other than You. I want to be one with You – my heart knit to Yours. Grow Your love and truth deep within me. Thank You that Your Word tells me if I ask anything in your name and according to Your will that You will do it. In Your name, AMEN!!

Scripture

Matthew 5:21-22
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

1 Peter 3:3-6
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Devotional

Lord, Am I Angry?

What gets to you? Or should I say who? Is there someone or something that continues to churn in your stomach? How do you respond when someone continues to hurt you or do wrong to you? How we respond in any given situation has a lot to do with who we are serving.

We want to be godly in all our relationships, even in those difficult relationships with people who are slow to change. For instance, when your spouse doesn’t seem to love you or take a genuine interest in you, when he puts down one too many beers too many nights of the week, or when she continues to focus on the next thing she needs for the house. Or, when your friend seems to always be disappointed, nothing you do seems to ever be good enough. Maybe the difficult relationship is with your mother, mother-in-law, or a very challenging 2-year-old. What do you do? How do you forgive seventy times seven, really?

Do you believe that God can enable and empower you to be strong, wise, and faithful so that you can have a gentle and quiet spirit, no matter what comes your way (1 Peter 3:3-6)? No matter what your husband does or how many times he does it? No matter who wrongs you or how tired you are or how many times your buttons are pushed? No matter what your children are thinking or doing? No matter what your neighbor does – or the church?

We all deal with anger. As Christians, the terrain is challenging. But cling to your Lord! This week we will walk forward with our ears and hearts open to allow Him to have His way in our hearts.

PRAISE HIM

Lord, I praise you. You are Go and I am not. I want your righteousness!

Psalms 4:3-5
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

ADMIT YOUR SINS

Confess with a repentant and contrite heart.

Deuteronomy 32:39
39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Jeremiah 17:14
14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

Lord, I admit that I…

THANK HIM

Thank you, Lord, for your compassion and for the riches and blessings You have given.

1 Chronicles 16:8
8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

1 Chronicles 16:34-35
34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

ASK HIM

Lord, give me your heart. Please grant me your patience and forbearance moment by moment.

Colossians 3:12-17
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

MY OWN THOUGHTS

I have learned so much over the last week that I was thankful for the seventh day being nothing more than reflection. I needed that time. I have a feeling that this week will be the same way. I pray all of you have open hearts and if you feel yourself buckle over anything that is being said in this study from here on, take a moment for self reflection. I have found the truths that changed me were often very painful.

Lord, I pray you give us an increase in our understanding of You that we may love You more with a pure and honest love. Amen.

Until next time beloved, thank you for joining me yet again. I love you all and as always, stay peculiar!
