Jesus – I want to love You more! The prayer

This Bible study has been a very big blessing in my life and I want to share it with you. It is by Thistlebend Ministries. I pray they will not mind me blogging about it. I hope that you will join me on Tuesday nights when you have a moment. Yes, I know the update said Thursday but I already have a Bible study going that night. All of you are welcome to head over and join me if you like. Go to YouTube and look for BlenCouragesU or add a .com behind it in your search bar! She starts at 7:00 pm my time… please don’t ask me to break that all down for each of you. I can’t keep up with my own time zones in America…moving on! Right now she is going over how we are to be “Redeeming the Time.” It has been a very biblical based study from a woman I believe is after the heart of God. I have learned a lot and have been confirmed a lot in my own beliefs – which for me is always a positive!

I feel at this point I must state something; I am a follower of Christ Jesus and that has nothing to do with man made religions. I am not interested in what denomination you are. I don’t care what church building your family holds to, and your traditions and rituals that your church has, they do not matter to me. Unless they don’t line up with the word of God. That is all that matters to me. I am writing this blog but if you see an error in my theology or my understanding, please, PLEASE tell me. Do you believe in the Jesus of the Bible? Do you? I know for me, I trusted in myself to keep from being deceived and failed miserably. Only by the word of God are our minds made new. We MUST read our Bibles like our lives depend on it… because they do! In my arrogance, I found out that I had adopted some pretty messed up ideas about what it means to be a follower of Jesus and because of this, I fell far from Him and I don’t want this for any of you. I didn’t have someone to tell me “Oh no! Don’t do that!” and even if I did… I was not listening.

The Bible study I am going to share with you can be found on YouVersion Bible app under that same title. It is an eight part study with one before it that is a prayer. For today’s study I am going to do only the prayer and allow those that want to join me time to prepare. It says it is three days but it’s really only one and that’s okay. If you want to friend me on the app as well, that would be fantastic! I am being gifted grace every day to live this life. So without further delay:

Please get the following things to make this study easier

  • Bible – always check for yourself and read the context
  • Journal – there are a lot of commands from Jesus and wonderful truths!
  • Sharped pencils
  • Erasers
  • Coloring gear (crayons, pens, markers, highlighters or all of the above.)

The prayer – Day one

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Galatians 5:22 KJV

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 KJV

and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 KJV

The intent of this plan is to guide us in prayer for the purpose of preparing, softening, and tilling the soil of our hearts in order to more readily comprehend and receive the love of Christ and to live in and live out that love, moment by moment, from the depths of our souls. And it is also our hope that you would continue to pray the prayers in this plan as you go through this plan…

The prayer – Day two

In the plan is a prayer that is beautifully written and I am going to do the same for this day and only leave you with the verses that we are to read each day and a prayer. None of us are perfect and I need the help of Jesus every second of everyday.

When you pray…Matthew 6:1-14 in the plan

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:1‭-‬15 KJV

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm 23 KJV

Okay, so I have to say that I am indeed going to write the prayer down from the plan. It is beautiful and I know that I could never write it better than they did. It is every word I wish I knew how to say when I was in the presence of the Most High.

Dear Lord Jesus, You have redeemed me from the dominion of death and darkness and brought me into Your Kingdom of life and light. Your mercy and grace have freed me from the prison of sin. Your loving kindness has knit my heart to Yours. Now I am Yours and You are mine. You are my Lord, my Master, and my Beloved. You are my loving, heavenly Father who loves me with a perfect love. Help me love You! Help me to see Your face and hear Your voice. Help me stand in Your grace and under the fountain of Your love. May Your love and truth flow over, in and through my soul. When despair, condemnation, doubt, or fear attempt to swallow me and threaten to bind me in their twisted claws, help me run to Your shelter in thanksgiving and praise. I love you, Lord Jesus! In You and in Your name I rest. Help me walk forward with my heart set upon you and things above, not on things below. (Amen.) For I have died, and my life is hidden with you. I want to love You. I want to love You with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all my strength. I want Your love in me and my love for You to be demonstrated in a longing to serve You and others and through my faithful obedience to You and Your Word. May my sole desire be to please You as my Lord and my Beloved. May I present myself before you as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Help me, by Your grace, to know You and love You so deeply and dearly that You mean far more to me than the things of this world. I want to worship You and You alone. (Amen.) I don’t want to be formed by anything or anyone else other than You. I want to be one with You – my heart knit to Yours. Grow Your love and truth deep within me. Thank You that Your Word tells me if I ask anything in your name and according to Your will that You will do it. In Your name, AMEN!!

Beautiful!

The prayer – Day three

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:2‭-‬3 KJV

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
2 John 1:5‭-‬6 KJV

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:15 KJV

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:21 KJV

If you wish to be a part of this study with me please feel free to download the YouVersion Bible App and join me for the rest of it. My name on there is my real one… Amberlea Page. My picture is of a cartoon woman with red glasses on and brown hair… (I was going to write out the whole plan but I am afraid of copyright issues) That being said… I am doing this plan a second time because of its depth. This time I plan on really listening to it and following what it says to do. If you do join, we can discuss each day of the plan together starting Tuesday night inside the app! Don’t forget that the invite to Bible study with sister Blenda is happening via YouTube at 7 pm my time. (Sorry guys… I am in Middle Tennessee USA… that’s the best I can do.) My own prayer for all who plan on joining…

May God through the Lord Jesus fill us with His Holy Spirit. May He give us eyes to see and ears to hear what He is trying to tell us. May He open our understanding and give us wisdom as we navigate our way through this study. May we have the fruit of the Spirit lived out in our lives, may we always dwell in Love, and may we seek Him more deeply. In the name of Christ Jesus, amen.

Until next Tuesday my peculiar ones, stay blessed! Please feel free to invite others to join us for this study. We could all stand to love Jesus a lot more! As always please subscribe, like and share this if it has touched you and the Lord leads you to do so.
